All images on this site were captured by astrophotographer Steve Yerby, mostly from his personal observatory.
This was a special event in 2012 that we will never see again. The small black dot is Venus and she is traversing the Sun. This will not happen again until 2117.
The remaining images on this page were captured with the specialized telescope, the Coronado SolarMax 60mm. The camera used was a monochrome Skyris 274m.
It is designed specifically for solar observation at the Hydrogen-alpha wavelength of 656 nm.
